San Diego is one of the most runnable cities in the world, and May is its sweet spot.
Warm enough to feel like Southern California, cool enough to run your best race.
No humidity, no heat waves, just perfect morning air and ocean breeze.
It's no accident this is our first trip.
It's also home. These are the streets Alberto runs. The neighborhoods, the hidden spots,
the restaurant where you absolutely must eat the night before a race. He knows them because
he lives them, not because he Googled them.

Come for the marathon.Stay for the city.
No scrambling for pasta the night before. No Google Maps rabbit holes.
Just good miles, good people, and a city that feels like home
long before you cross the finish line. And tacos. So. Many. Tacos. 🌮

Five Days in San Diego
← Drag to explore →
Day 01
Friday, May 29
Arrive & Feel the City
Check in, drop your bags, lace up. We'll take the group for a short easy run
along the 101 in Encinitas, one of the most beautiful stretches of road
in Southern California, right along the coast.
Evening is yours to explore and settle in.
The perfect way to shake off the travel and arrive properly.
Day 02
Saturday, May 30
Rest, Explore & Carb Up
No running today. Just good food, good vibes, and race prep.
Morning walk through the neighborhoods you'll race through tomorrow,
coffee at one of Alberto's favorite spots on the course.
Bib pickup at the Race Expo, or we handle it for you.
Afternoon: stalking the seals in La Jolla, ice cream mandatory.
That evening: pre-race pasta dinner at a spot Alberto actually eats at. Early night.
Day 03
Sunday, May 31 🏅
Race Day
Early start at Balboa Park. The course takes you through eight iconic
San Diego neighborhoods. Hillcrest, North Park, Mission Hills. All the way
to the finish at Waterfront Park with the skyline behind you.
Post-race: medals on, legs done, tacos waiting.
We celebrate with tacos by the beach. 🌮
You've had two days to fall in love with this city. Now it's time to run it.
Day 04
Monday, June 1
Recovery Day
No alarms. Slow morning, big breakfast, sore legs, big smiles.
Tentatively: a trip to Jacumba Hot Springs, a hidden gem about an hour east,
to soak those marathon legs in natural hot springs surrounded by high desert.
Subject to change, but trust us. It's worth it.
Day 05
Tuesday, June 2
Farewell San Diego
Last morning run if you're up for it. A slow, scenic send-off along the water.
Checkout, goodbyes, and a city that feels completely different than it did when you arrived.
You came for a race. You're leaving with more than a medal.
Go Even Further After The Race. Or In This Case, Go South.
Optional Add-On
Baja California. Puerto Nuevo, Ensenada & Valle de Guadalupe.
Three days. Dates TBD. A side of Mexico most people never find.
Day 01Cross the Border & Taste Baja 🌮
We cross into Baja and head straight to Puerto Nuevo, a tiny coastal village with
one reason to visit and one reason only: lobster. Butter, beans, rice, fresh tortillas,
and a cold cerveza with the ocean in front of you. From there: Ensenada, the Mercado Negro,
the waterfront. And a boutique property tucked into Valle de Guadalupe
that doesn't show up on the first page of any travel site.
Day 02The Valley Is Yours 🍷
No agenda, no schedule. Morning run through the vineyards if your legs are willing.
The rest of the day: small family-run wineries, long lunches at some of Mexico's
most innovative outdoor restaurants, the kind of afternoon that makes you wonder
why you ever booked a resort vacation.
Day 03Back to San Diego 🌊
Slow morning, big breakfast, one last glass of Valle wine if the occasion calls for it.
Back across the border to San Diego in the afternoon.
Catch an evening flight home, or stay one last night. Either way,
you'll leave having seen a side of Mexico most people never find.
